Start Page Numbering at a Specific Page in Word on a Mac

How to start page numbering on a specific page in word on the Mac version of Word. We learn how to make a section break and how to start the page number count start at the beginning of a specific section of our word document.

Another Master's thesis was saved. I too spent a long time not being able to get it to work quite right from other videos. I really hate how Word on Mac is different and there are few proper tutorials to help. Thank you.

I've been trying this multiple times, doing precisely as you instruct, and it simply doesn't work at all.

When I put the cursor in the footer of the third page where I have the continuous section break, and then insert page numbers - format and start at page 1, the footer disappears from the first page but not the second page, and the second page still has the header that says Page 2, and the third page also still has the header that says Page 3. I keep trying this and also getting different results.

And then I try making the section break a new page and then start at page 1, and so I finally get the new section to start at Page 1, but the first section's footer shows exactly the same at the second section, but with page 1 and 2. So I delete the footer from page 2, but it doesn't delete from page 1. So I delete the footer from page 1 and that deletes the footer not only on page 1 but from the footer in page 3 and beyond.

So it doesn't matter what I try, I cannot get no footer in the first section page 1 and 2 and a footer with page numbering starting at 1 on page three.

Perhaps there's some kind of corruption in my version?

The original version of Word for May way back in the 90s was SO much simpler and easier to work with than this version!
