I don't think people prefer older bikes over newer bikes with tech but its the price. Most people can't afford it. I read that someone bought a brand new aprilia rsv factory in 2008 for under 10, 000 pounds. Now they are around 28, 000 pounds. That's why all the dealerships are closing down.

So come on then, what questions do you have for me when I go on the launch? Answers on a postcard (or just below) x

Ya know the more I see this new version, the more I am convinced that BMW could not have created a more undesirable version of the most desirable model in history. This will go down in history.

The cake selection in the Dabbling Duck is honestly god-tier

It looks like the sad result of R2D2 having his way with a toaster. I’ll do what I always do with new models. Hate the piss out of it until I inevitably fall in love with it.

How much is enough? How much tech? How much displacement? How much cost? When will you be satisfied? Are you not entertained?

When at Newlands corner should have parked next to the Multistrada. Beauty and the beast.. 😂

As a GSA owner I think the best thing to happen to the Adventure and the *real* reason to upgrade is the ASA option. By all early accounts they got it right. The GSA is such an easy, pleasurable long distance bike, except in certain scenarios, for instance, when you're fully loaded with 40kg of luggage, have a nearly-full tank and are stuck doing 5 mph on a steep incline in the Alps behind a column of cars because some tw*t decided to take a relaxed horse and carriage ride up the St. Gotthard pass.

In a stop-and-go situation that you can't easily filter out of this "easy" 300+kg bike suddenly demands all your focus, clutch, throttle, and rear brake skills just to keep the bike upright and moving. Unnecessary stress even at my height of 6ft 2. I imagine ASA will make heavily-laden slow-speed scenarios of stop and go traffic so much less annoying, and let's face it the gearbox on the GS has always been rough, so I say good riddance. This tech should make those 8 hour days in the saddle more relaxing, which is the whole point of the GSA, and I suspect most of the target audience for this bike would agree.

That said, I'll always have a manual gearbox on my naked where the focus of the ride is more the bike, less the scenery.

This European brands are on a competition in who can sell bikes more expensive, the Chinese are on a competition in who can sell cheaper, I think I already know who will be the winner on this game a few years from now.

Honestly, both bikes look great next to each other. I think my concern at this point is hearing the shaft drive being considered a consumable at our cost.

Great Video. Getting off the 1250 GSA and onto the 1300GSA is definitely the way to review, I remember test riding the 1250 while I had the 1200 and couldn’t feel any great difference! I didn’t rush out and change but eventually did further down the line, and I’m sure I will do the same with the 1300 .

Love the scenery of those old towns. Also, is the blind spot monitoring in the side mirrors a new addition? Thanks

The adjustable ride height is not a gimmick when you’re 5’6. Its the different between riding one or not.

I was unsure of the new look of the GSA from the first pictures and videos, but in person, the bike looks quite good. I’ve only had my 1250 for about 2 years, so I’m keeping it for a while longer, but the 1300 definitely has my attention.

I wonder how many folks have crashed while concentrating on navigating the menu's and modes?

Honestly if your looking for a much much cheaper alternative to this bike the vstrom 1050 is fantastic and about 1/2 the price. I was at the dealer the other day and they had one for 1/3rd the price. For more road focused stuff the new versys does it all and you get that sweet I4. Beauty of choice. Would you consider testing the "Tall rounders" against each other if you have the time.
