Cutting and Cleaning a Calabash Gourd

The calabash gourd isn't a true gourd but can be used in the same way. Today I am preparing a pair of calabash gourds to use as light fixtures. Here's a simple method to cut and clean them. Thanks for watching.

If cut in half It would make a real nice salad dish. Cut as you did it seems like it would make a real nice bowl for holding liquid or rice . Seems like the walls will take to a real nice finishing job.

Those are small! We know them by higuero here at Dominican Republic, there are several size trees from maracas size to bowls

Man the way you did this felt very unsafe. You could have lost your finger if one stroke slipped. Please don't clamp with one hand and saw with another. Use a real clamp.
