South Florida attracted dozens of these companies during the pandemic, bringing with them high-paying jobs and workers with deep pockets paying for homes with cash. It brings up the question: is there room for the middle class anymore in Palm Beach County?

There's no middle class in the U.S. anymore.

You really think that the local politicians care? Don't forget that if the price of the property goes up, so do the taxes. Its like candy to a baby.Their gleefully looking at ways to spend all that money no matter what.Meanwhile local merchants can't find workers because of the higher prices for homes and rents.

The other shoe that will drop with increased home values is folks not being able to afford the higher property taxes that go hand-in-hand with inflated valuations…..😕

Retired to rural Georgia on 150 acres a huge house from Palm Beach County, a five star rat hole. Family moved to Palm Beach County in 1965 it was paradise. Couldn't wait to get out.

Foreign money. Say it, Already. Non citizens, cartels, laundered money is doing this.

We bought our house for less than 100k 10 years ago. Currently it’s valued at 250k. Crazy! New homes around me that were built 2 years ago were listed for 200k are already 450k.

I am one of those middle class residents. I have good income and still can’t afford the highly rent or astronomical home prices of Palm Beach County. I am forced to move away from my family to Ocala, FL. Much more affordable there but a distance from my family.

Come to Pennsylvania. We are middle class and our home is paid off. There are a lot of middle class people here. You have to make the right decisions. Of course real estate is higher near the ocean, common sense.

I love how all the news stations stay on their propaganda of calling Florida “Paradise”. I have lived here for 15 years. I wouldn’t exactly call it Paradise. This is done to cause apathy to those who can’t afford the cost of living in Florida because of course it will cost a lot to live in “Paradise”. It’s all about the rich justifying their price gauging to maximize profits at the expense of causing homelessness at a scale we have never seen and they do not give a $hįt who goes without food, water or housing.

This state is becoming DEPRESSING! There is so much deforestation, ecosystem and nature destruction. There is NO END TO CORRUPTION AND GREED! Sick what humans do and when we leave for future generations.

don’t worry, there’s a large amount of shadow real estate “secondary homes”. The owners 401(k)s and stock portfolios have dropped 20%. They will be selling those homes soon! all of this will come to a slow halt, the bubble is about to pop!

If DeSantis is doing such a great job, why isn't he addressing what is obviously the growing, not diminishing, problem of skyrocketing housing costs in Florida and the continued exodus of people to cheaper states?
