What if Darth Nihilus Returned? Part 3

I think this is my best fan fic yet. It was certainly the most fun to create! I hope you enjoy:)

I tried to present this story as if it were a story arc within the Clone Wars, so a lot of the events that happened, played out in a way that did not leave a permanent effect on the overall Star Wars story. Much like the Mortis arc, could have had drastic impacts on the Star Wars story if it had been allowed too.

Let me know what you thought of this fan fic in the comments below!

Alternate ending: Since there's no Jedi Exile (a wound in the force), or his former apprentice, Visas Marr, who could weaken him somehow, Darth Nihilus would drain the life of the three Jedi without breaking a sweat. The threads of the "Chosen One" prophecy are severed. Darth Sidious shows up, now fearing the worst since he felt the disturbance in the force as Anakin died, and is shocked to see, lying on the ground, the bodies of Anakin, his Jedi Master and his Apprentice, dead. There was litte sign of any battle that had been taking place, and they looked as if they've had all of the life sucked out of them. Sidious lifted his head to see Nihilus several meters ahead, standing on the bridge and looking out over the galaxy, his back turned against him. The great Sith master was struck with fear, something he had not felt in a long time. Skywalker was meant to become his apprentice, the Chosen One of legends, the most powerful Jedi-turned-Sith in all the galaxy. Yet he had been defeated so effortlessly, like he was nothing. Anakin was key to his plans, his apprentice and enforcer whom he would use to impose his will over the galaxy, and without him, the generations of Sith planning and plotting would all be for nothing. If he could not save his great plan, the only way forward would be to join up with this monstrous Sith lord and take control from the shadows, as he always had. He walked up to Nihilus on the bridge of the great broken vessel, his will eroding with every step, as he sensed the raw, overwhelming power of the great Sith. When he was only a couple of meters from Nihilus, the Sith Lord finally turned to face him. Sidious took note of the garments and Lightsaber hilt of the great lord, which had once belonged to his apprentice, Darth Tyranus. But there was nothing left of his former apprentice now, as he sensed that the void that was Nihilus, had taken over his entire being, and fully consumed him. He bent his knee and asked to pledge his allegiance to Nihilus, and the Sith Lord sensed his power and potential. Nihilus spoke in a terrible voice, a language which Sidious, of all people, had never even heard before. He did not know the language, but he somehow understood just what he was saying. Nihilus would take him, but he only had need of slaves to do his bidding, and life to feed upon. He could be his main commander, but always subservient. Just then, Nihilus used his power to drain some of the life and force energy of Sidious, enslaving his will through the sheer world-ending power. While draining some of his power to create this master-slave bond, Nihilus saw right through Sidious, sensed his cunning and how he would try and plot to take over and control the galaxy that Nihilus intended to consume. How foolish of Sidious to even think of becoming the master of the Sith. Sidious would not merely become his apprentice, he would be less than that, a slave. Sidious, the once-great Sith lord who once would have controlled the galaxy, could do nothing against the power of Nihilus. He could do nothing but bend to his power and will. Darth Nihilus had returned, and there was nothing to stop him from consuming the galaxy, world after world. Their attacks started relatively small, striking from the shadows as he did thousands of years ago, draining planets of life, one after another. The Republic would quickly have taken notice of this and investigated the dead worlds that were left behind, finding only dead, uninhabitable wastelands, and terrible Force echoes. Nihilus' fleet would grow immensely, as his slave-apprentice had control of the Separatists and the Republic, they combined many of the fleets and armies into one destructive force, droids and Clone slaves working together. Jedi and force-sensitives also came to him, and some were turned, whilst others were drained. Nihilus did not know or care about the "Rule of Two", he only wanted a vast Sith army for himself. His Sith were mostly allowed to do as they please, as he knew that none of them could threaten his power, and so they spread evil and terror throughout the galaxy, and starting many new and great academies on the select few worlds that Nihilus let stand. Of course, when the time came, and most of the Sith were gathered on a single world, he would devour all of the energy of that planet. As more and more worlds fell, the Jedi and the small remaining Republic armies desperately trying to fight the unstoppable Sith threat, Nihilus would eventually devour all of the core worlds, and Coruscant with all of the Jedi still remained. Coruscant, now devoid of all life, was a broken city-planet, with ships crashing into the steel buildings, and the many layers of the city crashing down on the layers below. Dust-storms would cover the surface, and the planet would be completely devoid of light when seen from above. Many of the droids who existed there would eventually start building settlements and droid cities, turning the former center of the galaxy into a lifeless machine-world, rebuilding some ruined cities, and reigniting the light that had once shone from orbit. The remaining sentients of the galaxy were scattered, with many joining the Sith and the army of Nihilus, while others tried escaping to the remaining worlds that hadn't yet been claimed by his insatiable hunger. The few living worlds became overcrowded and their already fragile systems collapsed, creating total planet-wide anarchy. Others began to worship Darth Nihilus as a terrible God, creating a whole new religion based around him, with legends of Tyranus, who became something of a Saint in their mythology, and of course, his first servant, Sidious. Sidious, now being fully dedicated to nothing but his master and God, would use this religion to their advantage, take full charge over it, and spread the gospel of it to new worlds and galaxies. The more primitive ones were the easiest to convert, and they welcomed the coming of their (Sith) Lord, who would supposedly bring his salvation to their planet. Salvation, in this case, being complete extinction. As the hunger of Nihilus was endless, a black hole in the Force, he would always need more and more planets to feed upon. Now, his form did not resemble the shape of a human anymore. He was an unfathomable monstrosity, a black, writhing shape, pulsing with dark energy, that sometimes remembered and regained the human form it once had. When it spoke, it drove people mad. But one thing would always remain with him. That, of course, being his solid white-and-red mask. As his power grew and grew, no longer needing to feed on just one planet at a time, he began to ascend from his semi-physical form. His power became so great, that he would usurp the power of the Force itself. As he was once a wound in the Force, he had grown, untreated, and become the death of the Force. When, at last, there were only scraps of life left in the universe, the small remnants of the Nihilus worshippers and the Sith (now combined into one slave force) were all that were left, and the being once known as Nihilus. It would be then that he transcended from his physical form, into the great new omniscient power of the galaxy. It was far greater than an entire planet, droid warships orbiting it, stronger than the Force, an incomprehensible being of sheer power, that consumed all life in its vicinity. It was overflowing with Force energy, he was stronger than the Force now, and his influence stretched to the far ends of the whole galaxy, consuming everything. The time of life in the galaxy was at an end, and the great darkness would soon have consumed nearly all life in its existence. It was enough now, the being that was once Nihilus had become too powerful, and finally transcended into a true god. Where there was once the Force, there was now Nothing. Where there once was a galaxy full of life, there was nothing but ancient metal and stone, dark cult temples with skeletal remains littered everywhere. Yet somehow, just a dozen people had survived somewhere in the galaxy, on a fringe, barren planet, where they would spend the rest of their dreadful lives, chronicling the end of all life in the universe, and what caused it all. In the time beyond time of the future, life would come back into the universe, but this time it would be different. Nihilus had become a new god. When there was nothing left to feed upon, what remained of his physical form ascended, and became a new consciousness. One with the knowledge of all that it had consumed, history of the past and the future, one with no perception of time as we know it. It transcended this three-dimensional plane of existence and now can control all of existence. Yet, it chooses not to. It leaves the universe be, and doesn't control it, or the fates of the living creatures in the mortal plains of existence. It is nothingness, and chooses to be nothing, and leaves the control of existence over to life itself. All that is left now is a universe without the Force, or anything that holds control over the destinies of the universe's life. In a completely unimaginable way, the most terrible student of Darth Traya, would become the one being to fulfill her greatest desire.

plot twist: Dooku leaves, yet his charming demeanor vanishes. Dooku did die when he put on the mask. Nihilus smirked as he knew the transfer was complete. he'd switched his soul from the mask to Dooku's body. he would play the fool, until the very last moment. killing young Skywalker and Sideous would be... invigorating.

That was good. It's a more direct and exciting version of what might happen, that largely disregards the actual strengths of Sidious and Nihilus, in favour of that direct excitement. But that's how Star Wars usually does it anyways.

Nihilus would consume all of them in a direct confrontation - it's free food, and he is a power in the force to which there is no defense. As the void he is, just being near him turns their power into his own. He was originally beaten through the Exile, because attempting to drain another void (wound in the force), in Nihilus' advanced way, can't work - it dramatically weakened him, and Kreia manipulated him toward that weakness because it was the only way to stop him. Without that, even Sidious would have been easy dinner. That said, Sidious wouldn't have even been there, and would have instead manipulated Nihilus into some other force mumbo-jumbo trap from a distance, and defeated him with relative ease that way; that's Sidious' greatest strength, and Nihilus' greatest weakness. ...But that would have been a longer and/or much more boring story, with plot conveniences just to make it possible, rather than SWC's plot conveniences to make it fun.

TL;DR: Ignored philosophical complexity of game, instead using superficial bluntness of movie/cartoon, but that is a very 'Star Wars' way to do it. End result is the same either way. Was much more exciting for length of story.

Darth Sidious could have played a good guy stopping the powerful sithlord but no one would buy it.

Nihilus would be unstoppable unless there was another wound in the force present similar to the exile. The exile was his specific foil and although not strong enough on her own to beat him was able to whittle him down to deliver the coup de grace.

I'm thinking that nihilus would just drain everyone from the start unless he thought he could turn him. I just don't think there's anyone in the clone wars who could stand up to him. He was an absolute power house in terms of the force and as long as he could use that no one could beat him. In my humble opinion anyway.

I wanted to comment upon this trilogy You created. 1stly Thank You for Your Hardwork and Effort it is appreciated 2ndly Thank You for choosing Darth Nihilus as He is My personal Favorite of all Sith.
Never give up this passion You are truly gifted in story telling.

Again Thank You!

I’m glad you had nihilus start draining anakin because only someone who has no connection to the force (a wound in the force) can actually resist nihilus’s drain. Anakin is literally the embodiment of the force itself so there’s no way he could ever resist him.

Can you do like what if the evil side of Darth Revan came back since he's now separated from the Light Side Revan

I know star wars typically has to have a happy ending, So I can get behind this ending because sometimes plot armor is necessary and we just have to suspend our disbelief. But talking lore wise, there is no situation where sidious realistically lasts more than half a second against Nihilus.

Even with Anakin's power, he had barely tapped into it's full potential at this point and lacked enough skill to effectively use it. It's like fighting a baby that will grow up to be Randy Couture. Yeah he will be able to curb stomp you at some point, but he ain't there yet, and you can just pick him up and throw him down a well.

And I don't think using Dooku's body would negatively affect Nihilus' power. He transcended the need for midichlorians a long time ago and was just as powerful with literally no body. Just a spirit in a mask.

This is all just a Lore thought experiment. Doesn't really mean anything at the end of the day tho.

What if light side Revan or at least the Revan surrounded by light and darkness trained Anakin?

Without a wound in the force to counter him Anakin, Obi, Palps and Ashoka all die without even being able to put up much of a fight. The fact that Nihilus here already devoured a few worlds beforehand makes it even worse. So the true ending is they all die and Nihilus continues to feed and feed until the entire galaxy becomes a lifeless void of dead worlds. Nihilus isn't really a Sith he's a calamity.

He would have eaten all of them I don't even think a Dark Side Anakin would not have been able to stop him. Sith from back then were on a whole nother level
