Coach K Garage Tech Talk: Cushcore Gravel Setup

Thought I'd talk everyone through what I use and how I set up my wheels for general gravel riding. I love to explore on my OPEN U.P. and this set-up allows me to go everywhere; road, gravel, and even jump on some fun singletrack. Cushcore really allows you to push yourself and underbiking makes everything a bit more exciting.

I'm around 170lbs and run this set-up around 28psi +/- for most circumstances. Let me know in the comments if you have any more questions or topics you want to see me chat about in the garage. Cheers. - Geoff

My only concern running tire inserts for gravel events would be if you do slash a sidewall you would be stuck removing the cushcore to install a tube/boot and then you have to carry it around with you.

What type of terrain does this allow you to tackle? By dropping the psi to 25 does it run more like a 650b?

Have you tried to put this in a 33mm tire like that used for CX?
