Vesi and I were filming in this meadow when a flashmob of cows emerged from under the bridge in the seconds before we started playing. They proved a marvellously well-mannered audience; apparently transfixed by our music they stood quietly listening for the most part, only moving during transitioning moments as if on cue. I must put more dates in the dairy...

I wrote the melody for "The Road to Casterbridge" many moons ago after a period in which I completely immersed myself in the novels of Thomas Hardy, which remain amongst my favourites. I pondered over the composition for many hours when I was younger but it wasn't until revisiting it this summer that I was able to scope a satisfying conclusion. All of your kind comments over the years continue to inspire me to write and improve, so I owe you all a debt of thanks.
