Never Back Down 2 in my opinion was far superior to the 1st. The writer Chris Hauty just took the general plot of the Karate Kid and replaced it with MMA I mean it's literally the same story!

- Kid moves from one American city to another, has no father, lives with a single mother, doesn't immediately fit in new school, gets introduced to film's main girl, meets main antagonist at a social gathering and gets his ass kicked. Also, his mentor just happens to have a tragic Back story as well.

I get it if people may prefer NBD1 and that's fine, but at least the 2nd was original.
