Perhaps the earliest ripe fig in Canberran history, 3 days into Spring, and we have Celeste ripening.

Celeste is a sugar-type fig that is renowned for being an early and good producer of small figs.

Well done - figs so early in the year 🙌.
It will be interesting to compare the timing with next year outside of the grow tent. Might be worth investing in a ballroom sized grow tent 😁

Love your videos, keep them coming. I have recently got myself an Italian honey, but have you tried the peters honey. I only want a couple of honey figs or should I go for the Celeste instead. Cheers.

I have the exact same fig variety If I'm correct in assuming yours is from Daleys. When I ordered mine from Daley's, I thought it would be the particular celeste variety called 'Blue Celeste' which is a small blue skin fig with red interior. Yours looks very similar to Improved Celeste, which has a melon like interior as you described. It does seem like a great tasting fig though, judging off how you reacted to it. Daleys says in their description that it's also known as 'Blue celeste, Sugarfig, and Celestial' and this is why I'm confused haha. I've just repotted my Azore Dark figs (San Miguel Roxo) and the root systems are great. Won't be much longer before I have them listed on eBay. Btw me and my mate who are both into figs really like your content. Keep it up!
