Just because they are the descendants of Muhammad ﷺ doesn't mean they are in the right path. There are many "syeds" who are grave worshippers and call to bid'ah.

It is said in Islamic text (forgive me I know not which) that a traveler asks "where is the prophet " and was told "it's that white man leaning over there" - "Behold the whiteness of his knee, the whiteness of his leg, behold the whiteness of the white man, and his descendents are white with red/ginger hair - bit of a controversy what!?

Is this true that there are descendants of the Prophet Mohamed PBUH today? We need clarification on this topic. One of our Imams once said that there are no living descendants of the Prophet's family today. I have held the view that in the past centuries people, especially of the subcontinent took any pious person from Arabia who came, settled and intermarried with them as 'Said/Sayed', and that they were descendants of the Prophet. They might have been descendants of the Sahabi and the next generations who went far and wide during Islams expansion, but people out of ignorance mistook this as being from the Prophet. I also don't think that the remaining Prophet's family went abroad (ie his direct line), but just stayed in Medina. Maybe his uncle Abbas's line (Abbasid dynasty) continued for some time, but they also are also no more.
We need clarification on these points for our own benefit but also there are some people out there who are using descendancy from the Prophet in a negative way - see Salim Lalani's clips on Youtube.
