At one point in game play you can unlock "employees", and pay them each day to:
1. Collect garbage
2. Book guests
3. Prepare food
4. Fill furnace

Essentially run the hotel for you while you run around upgrading things and finishing the story. There is a story that really steps up in the end game, during the period where you might get bored of the monotony of collecting and upgrading.

Plus you can leave the game running in the background and come back to thousands of coins thanks to your employees 😄

Well, if the core systems are good it looks like it is still a worthwhile pick up for me - looks lovely for those "my brain is too exhausted to enjoy something more active" evenings where I only have about an hour to play anyway! Something comforting, cute, and short is perfect for that.

It sucks when my worries about a game turn out to be justified. It has such cute art I was really hoping they would find a way to keep it interesting but alas

This sounds like a very familiar experience for me -- an initially fun game getting bogged down in repetition, that is -- so thanks for the review letting me know in advance. Well, I'll still probably play it eventually, but my expectations will be in the right place. 😉

If the game lets me be a bear, I’m in. Simple

bear necessities XD
I think I can be alright with this, though it is unfortunate it doesn't vary itself late game. It can definitely be improved overtime if the developers stick with it.

Just finished it after 28.5 hours. If you collect a lot during early game, you are pretty much set on supplies. I never needed to go out and scavenge for supplies other than iron plates (in the dump) and mahogany wood. And I mean... it's a game where you manage hotels... did you expect it to not be repetitive? You're gonna have to book guests every day, get certain items, etc. I only found the end game to be repetitive when everyone was asking me to cook them a special dish, then go talk to someone to complete the quest.

2:50 The bear necessities, huh?

I went ahead and picked this up; it'll be great for unwinding after work for an hour or so at a time, I suspect.

I had a feeling this would disappoint me the way cat cafe manager did. The only difference between both these games’ gameloops seems to be that in bear and breakfast you can walk through the world to collect things. Waited so long for a bunch of games in this genre and ended up not buying any of them :/ still looking forward to one lonely outpost, coral island and roots of pacha.

Shame, I like the aesthetics but we have enough tedious and repetitive games like it.

I enjoyed this game and put over 55 hours into it. Different strokes for different folks. I loved being a bear and decorating places. I put care into my bnb's though and didn't just slap furniture everywhere. I think if people like games like Animal Crossing and The Sims, they might be at home here. The only critique I have for it is the main story felt unfinished. Otherwise 9/10.

It looks like a combo of Stardew Valley and Cozy Grove (particularly the art style). I've tried 3 different farms in Stardew Valley and I always ended up feeling both stressed and bored no matter what focus I did. Having to be back in the house by 2am started to make me stressed, but then the routine of things started to get a bit boring. I'm all for routines and such, but less so with video games. This game doesn't look bad at all, but I can tell it won't be for me.

Cat Cafe Manager was like this too (plus you could only 5 hours of gameplay out of it max)

I’m not very far in but am loving it so far. Always interesting to hear other people’s experience. X

Looked tedius from the get go so it doesn't surprise me. You can hear how bored the dude is just talking about it. If any could be learnt from this as Devs is that if you're going to have grind at least have somebody that's good with the writing to help soften the boredom, like with Hades basically feeding you cute interactions in-between the grind.

was looking forward to this game, but between this review and some others I read, I won't be buying right away. I'll wait and hope it goes like Spiritfarer - release day lacking in late game interest or a satisfying ending, but patched later in a significant way

It's a fun little game, not to be taken too seriously. You can just abandon resorts or get the employees to manage them for you, they will get most of the profits, but hey you can move on to do more fun things. Or stick to managing the last big resort, or your favorite. Just make cozy little rooms and when you are done with that you can move on with your life ... not every game has to be 1000 hours of grind
