Crimea water dispute: Russia struggles to supply region

The North Crimea Canal in southern Ukraine used to supply the majority of the peninsula's water needs.
Ukraine built dams on the canal after Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, saying it would only allow water to flow when Russia ends its occupation.
Russia has been transporting water in, but rationing has reportedly become worse with the arrival of tens of thousands of additional Russian troops.
The area has now become a potential flashpoint between Kyiv and Moscow.

This is not drinking water. . The canal only serves to supply water for industry.
The Geneva convention states that the occupying force of an state (or part of) has a responsibility to supply water to the population. . . This is not a Ukrainian problem it's a Russian one.

I'm on Russia's side on THIS issue. As they bought that peninsula with their blood during the Crimean War and WW2. Unlike the western media harping on the annexation, Ukraine was oddly given the Crimea for the starvation they've suffered under Stalin by a sympathetic Krushev. The Crimean people being predominantly Russian wanted back into the Russian fold. The Crimeans celebrated the return of Russian rule.
Germany imports 35 percent of its oil,   and 50 percent of its coal from Russia., this is not just Ukraine, it flows through to Europe.Water is strictly a Ukrainian supply, they should've kept that flowing for the people's sake but for the history of the 20th Century.... hard to bury that big a hatchet.
