Public sector wages and benefits are completely paid by private sector taxation. They are our employees, sure doesn't seem like it though.

its a hell of a lot more than 10.6% higher.
factor in all the massive gold plated pension for life, the job security, the lack of global (or any) competition, the automatic promotions, the fact that private sector layoffs are far higher, the earlier retirement ages..etc etc. Its more like 106% !

Don't believe me? Scrap the public sector's pension and pay that amount up front as salary. The amount a public sector employee would take home per month would be off the charts.
