Underrated film from the 80s. Great cast, good plot, and great effects for the era

Never got to see this in theaters or later rent it on video! Weird Science, Electric Dreams, Explorers - it seemed every month there was a new Sc-Fi/Kids/Comedy coming out but they were all positive and fun with bleeding edge special effects for the time. I truly miss this era in film!

I used to watch this all the time as a kid. It was so fun and the T-Rex was so cool because it was still a pre-Jurassic Park world. The 80s and early 90s was such happy times. Today.. our world is just a complete mess.

I remember seeing this at the Drive- in when I was in junior high. Good B grade movie. I like the alien gizmo, basically a storm ball, and the main character 's hotrod.
