Hope prepares for surge of debris-laden water from Chilcotin River landslide

The B.C. government says the risk of a worst-case scenario has drastically decreased after a massive landslide dammed the Chilcotin River last week.

The local First Nations name for the region where the landslide occurred is "Nagwentled, " which means "land slides across the river, " so perhaps this shouldn't have been a surprise.
