Sold mine last week after five years. This was my first proper bike and lord I loved it. Fast? Pacy? Quick off the line? Absolutely not. But comfort for days across anything short of trails and chunky gravel. This bike is so comfy that I still cannot believe it. Built like a tank, probably the only bike that still comes with a 3by (at least in the off road category). They have also downgraded on tires. When I got them in 2018, WTB Horizons (I had the 650b version) 42 was the OEM tire, now they have downgraded to Vee.

took off the WTB tyres mine came with, punctured too much. also changed groupset to a mountain bike deore 10 speed x 2. trekking bars. now i have the perfect tourer.

Having bought a Marin Four last year from Graham I can attest to it being a worthy tourer. I use it for commuting especially in the summer 18 miles each way. Ideally in future Marin might put it on a diet as it’s a little heavy even for steel. But it is a work horse and can be loaded up which is why I like it for commuting. Not bad on the gravel either.
Overall a nice balance especially for the price in my opinion having used it for almost a year
