This is a short production showcasing the wonder of some of the strange and wonderful songs, calls and sounds of Australian birds. The sounds are wide and varied and this film shows birds from both coastal and remote outback regions. I have traveled many thousands of Kilometres to achieve these sequences. Enjoy.

I can't even imagine how long you had to spend to film these amazing bird calls! Fantastic sound and film. Thanks. I am doing the Australian Bird Count this week and we are fortunate to live in rural Gippsland with our farm running down to a large lake/reservoir on the edge of state forest and a large nature conservation reserve so we have swathes of bushland across the lake - plus we have a large garden with mature trees and lots of shrubberies along with a farm so the varietly of birds we see is remarkable. I am trying to identify a particular bird by it's song but haven't been able to sight it. I will keep working on it though! Thanks Tim for your excellent Youtube channel. Cheers.

Australian birds, how delightful their song. I am inspired to go and listen to them in their natural habitat. Great videography, too! Thank you so much! I do hope that we can preserve out natural diversity and not lose what we could never get back.

I only have the Grey Butcherbird in my area and everything else is a treat for me that I will have to educate myself on, not just the location either. We have Pied Butcherbirds but not as prolific as the Grey's, they can belt out some pretty dulcet tones as well. I live on the Central Coast of NSW's and from 1 end of the coast to the other the Butcher birds have many variations to there tunes, it's quit amazing, then when I go further north or south from the Coast there different again, they are great mimickers as well, I here them mimicking the Magpies but I've also heard the Magpies mimic the Butcherbirds, lol👍

the striated fieldwren's call is so regal! Almost like a military or aristocratic anthem.

I would like to memorise these calls and learn to identify the birds from their calls.
