One Year Update - OLED Burn-in Test – RTINGS.com

In this video, we will go over the results so far from our two ongoing burn-in tests.

Our current stance is that if you vary your content and don’t display static areas then you’re unlikely to experience any issues. If you do plan to watch a lot of static content with bright, saturated colors, then an OLED TV probably isn’t for you. There has been no appreciable change to the brightness or color gamut of these OLED TVs which is great.

I would love to see this done again with newer panels that have burn in prevention software built in to see whether or not it works.

I have an LG OLED C7 and I always go to settings and then Screen Off when I am away just to avoid burns when I am playing games. Also I play games with the HUD off. My t.v. still amazes me and I take care of it like a child. Thank you LG for making me take care of my t.v. I wish the Screen Off be conveniently placed as a button on the remote. 👍

I reached out to LG- and they replaced my OLED C8 panel free of charge... one time... my OLED was out of warranty so I salute LG for this replacement. Thanks

Really appreciate this top-notch work. You approach these tests with good rigor, and I appreciate when you plainly state the limitations of the conclusions you can draw with your tests (as with the 100 TV longevity test).
