Field Pouch is PD's only organizer that is truly two bags in one: a minimalist carry-all sling bag, and compressible in-bag organizer. A roll-top opening grants easy access, massive expansion (it doubles in volume), and quick compression to eliminate unused space. Inside you’ll find a thoughtful layout of stretch pockets and zip pockets to keep cords, cards, batteries, keys—even small lenses or camera bodies—organized and not jingling around. Included ultralight adjustable strap enables cross-body or shoulder carry, and integrated belt loops allow for waist carry. For a lightweight shooting setup, attach a Capture Clip (sold separately) and keep your camera outside the pouch—keep your rig at-the-ready, and increase storage space for accessories. All fabrics are recycled and Bluesign approved, including the soft internal felt liner and the 400D double poly-coated weatherproof nylon canvas shell.

Now in its 2nd generation, the Field Pouch V2 features tons of usability optimizations like an included strap, improved pocket layout, and dual Capture attachment points. Updated patterning integrates loads of functionality into single, sweeping seam lines for a timeless, minimal look.

Handsome bag, but I don't like the redesign feature-wise. The vertically oriented hook field looks like you need to really line up the velcro to get it to catch, whereas the V1 had the hook field horizontal, so it can close even with an odd load where one side was more packed out than the other. They should've replaced the velcro altogether with a mag latch similar to the Everyday backpack. Also the stiff hypalon base made it easier for the V1 to stand up, but with the V2 it looks impossible unless you have something heavy with a flat base in there. I don't use a capture clip so maybe in that aspect some will find this more useful. V1 > V2 IMO.

Dang, I didn't know my Field Pouch v1 has a zipper pocket! :D Thanks for a great overview!

Great review. Agreed with most everyone, V1 is my preference as well. Seems like the v2 has one less pocket in the main compartment, which i prefer over the 5 SD card holders inside the zipper. Idk why they’re ditching the brown color (although the midnight is nice) and i miss the yellow innards of the V1 in black. I think the grey looks sick in the update, tho.

Nice update. The change in inner pockets do seem right to me. It is now more for many little things. When traveling with paspoort, or other similar documents, they do not have a proper pocket anymore and gets thrown arround. I'll stick to V1

I wish they’d make something between this and the 3l sling….
Cause the 3l is really more like a 4.5l

The folding top is stiff, takes up luggage space but can’t load much, travel tech pouch has more room, soft, easy to load, a much better option. I have both and this is my experience.

I came here for the comparison so thank you for that segment. I actually don't like the updates. Had they chosen to ditch the velcro and use magnets (which a lot of PD has) I might have been swayed... not sure why they would want to put the capture clips on the end of the bags unless you want to geek out and have two camera bodies. I prefer V1 where the camera is centered and the ends are almost a buffer in case the bag swings. The new included strap is just silly with only long and really long options whereas using a camera strap, especially a PD strap gives you more options. On top of everything else... there is new discontinued price on the PD website so I'm gathering three more of the V1... 🤷‍♀️

Through review. IMO v1 is better. Still the best pouch I own hands down.

I love my peak design field pouch v1. I was thinking they should have a trade in option, I do not need money for it. I just want the midnight blue one

Thanks for this walkthrough of the new field pouch. Hope there will be an in-depth review of it and comparison with version 1. Other than the exterior looks, I don't see much benefits to upgrading from v1.

I am not sure if this is a review or just an informational video. What I wanted to see is how it looks you wearing the pouch with camera dangling on its side and comments on the practicality of using it, and how easy or hard getting the camera in and out of the clip. However it looks like a nice every pouch.

Is it possible to put a small camera inside? Like a leica m?

Thanks for the video! How long is the strap fully extended? That isn't on their website! Cheers.

I wish peak design would made a Fanny pack just one compartment for small mirrorless like Fuji x100v… but I believe moment has something like this already

It looks like the top has longer pieces of velcro to attach to the bottom velcro, which would help with complaints about the velcro stopping working in v1. Does the velcro material seem more sticky?

Great review! I also like more the v1. Peak design probably thinks everyone is a photographer and needs thousands of memory cards :) Well, I don't.
