2 SIMPLE WAYS to BEAT GODFREY, First Elden Lord (Golden Shade)

This is my guide for how to beat Godfrey, First Elden Lord in Elden Ring as either a melee character or a spellcaster.

My cheesed way of beating him was summon my wolves (multiple targets) to distract him, get some distance, and blast him with the comet beam from my flame and night sword

How did I forget I could jump over the stomp.

I found an easier way to defeat Godfrey. I have found that his attacks come from your actions. As long as you are away from him and you do nothing he will just walk towards you. He strikes you when you are close to him and the dash towards you when you cast a spell and/or drink a potion at him. And he also has an attack where he jumps and throws his ax at you, and it was with that attack that I beat him. To get him to do that attack you simply run at him and he will use that attack. To dodge it you just have to not stop and keep running straight. After dodging him Godfrey will make a leap to get his ax back, and that's the time to hit him. You must do this while he is completing the action. So he won't react to your actions and he won't snap at you (same thing when it comes to drinking a potion to heal you or recharge your magic). I resorting to this strategy, which I devised by myself and I haven't seen video tutorials about it, I beat him without getting hit even once using the meteorite staff and the rock sling spell. And these things I understood by myself fighting against him. It didn't tell me anyone.

Bloodhounds Fang, get distance, wait until he wants to close the distance with his upwards throwing axe attack, when he dives for his axe you should CTRL attack him (heavy attack or special attack whatever u wanna call it), keep repeating that, done.

I was listening to DOOM music to pump me up and kept getting destroyed. Then during the fight I thought I was gonna los One Final Effort from Halo 3 came on and something clicked and I beat LFG!!!!

I stayed close to him dodging his attacks until I got an opening for me this was the easiest way it’s just muscle memory and when I was healing I back up a far distance.

he is not weak to scarlet rot, I nearly killed him with rot breath and it never procced

You can dodge his axe when he throws it that will create an opening for short time to land heavy attacks and carefully dodge his attacks and run to other end you can make him throw his axe every time by running to other end of arena and maintaining medium distance to trigger that axe throw and repeat the process. This way you can defeat him without taking any damage just dodge the axe his jump won't damage you ( strength build btw)

Apologies if this is a stupid question, but how is your lightning bolt uncharged doing 270+ while mine uncharged only does around 180?

jfc man. spent an hour dying to this guy trying to fight him hand to hand with a katana. switched to lightning bolt ash of war and 1 shot him

Great dragon katana special attack (from the DLC) eats him up while he attakcs your summon.

there a more easier way just stay away for a while then he will throw his axe at you just dodge and use heavy attack , then repeat again everytime you step away and create some distance he will jump and attack you.
