95% of Indian literature/text have been lost or burned. So you never know it might have an reference of Alexandar’s visit.

To be fair, if King Porus had won, he would have recorded it. If he didn't record the battle, it means he lost and slunk away in shame.

I love how every third podcaster knows history more than the historian themselves.

The University closed 250 year before the battle and the distance was around 190 km from the University.

His “invasion” wasn’t even a minor disturbance to India.
He was either defeated by a small king Porus or won in a narrow margin against Porus but was afraid of the stronger forces in India.
So he left.
This might be the real story…

"Saar, we are defeated in battle. Should we write it down?"
"No, Kumar, are you nuts?"

He didn't "give the kingdom back". He vassalised Porus, as he did many others throughout his conquest. This historical revisionism is disgusting.

"Should I write that down, too?"
"NO, ARE YOU NUTS?!"

As an Indian, I can confirm that Alexander won the battle

1. Alexander did defeat porus and most Indians who are actually aware know how his bravery was appreciated by Alexander. And Alexander deserves his title due to his conquest.
2. It's natural for ancient kingdom rulers to not record their defeat so its not unusual to not find evidence on that aspect..no need to state that Indians condemn Porus or his abilities for that.

Alexander was never defeated. He defeated armies way larger than his, routinely. He was a military genius, personally tutored by Aristotle. There is a reason why Generals to this day, still study his battles.

You are wrong this time miss. Alaxander's invasion was the key incident that forced Chanakya to visit Magadha. He told Dhana-Nanda that a foreign force named "Alakshyendra" (one with no goal) is invading the Indian subcontinent and Magadha needs to send an army. Dhana-nanda then humiliated him infront of everyone after which he swore he would dethrone Dhana-nanda. Chanakya then trained Chandragupta Maurya and while in his training he sent him to Alaxander's army as a spy/convoy. He told the Greeks about the river Ganga that is twice as wide and thrice as deep as Hydespas (Jhelum) and and an army 20 times as large as that of Porus's army with over 4000 elephants. This frightened the Greeks so much that they mutined against Alaxander and forced him to go back. This is recorded in both Mudrarakshasa, a sanskrit play about Chanakya's strategic dethronement of DhanaNanda and in Greek records where young Chandragupta is mentioned as Sandrosottus. He is also mentioned to have married princess Helena, the daughter of Selucus Nicator I. He gifted them 600 elephants during the wedding, thus proving his claims to be true. In reality, Magadha army was not going to fight because Dhana Nanda spent his time in leisure. But the rumour spread by Chanakya sure managed to shoo them away.
P.S. the real name of Porus is Maharaja Parmananda Katoch of the Katoch dynasty.
