War Thunder Sim Has A Lot Of Issues Right Now...

The title literally says it all, War Thunder Sim has a lot of issues right now. It won't take much to notice my current mood when it comes to War Thunder as an air simulator, and I imagine a lot of sim players are feeling the same. One step forward, three steps back and throw in some game-breaking bugs. To think the year started off with such high hopes.

Thankfully I have IL-2 and DCS to keep me entertained whilst this dumpster fire continues to burn, maybe somebody will thing about extinguishing it soon.

Yes, I hope they see this. I haven't touched sim since red skies and the rewards being nerfed and weird VR artifacts killed it for me.

I was playing sim using the mouse, which I don’t like as my setup is in the works right now. I got 6 kills and 1 death in the F3H Demon, and I lost SL because of it, although it was only like 2k SL but it’s very irritating that I can preform so well and not come out with a profit. (I would like to note I was only in there for, 30 minutes or so? And it was a small game.)

Not been able to do the daily challenges on sim and special challenges, and battle pass challenges is the current thing that stopped me from playing, I'm quite behind in the battle pass so I need to do a lot of special challenges to "compensate" so... There is that.

And they say SIM community isn't completely abandoned. The main thing that keeps me playing I can't do in my main game mode.

Biggest issue is that I play for 3 hours and get 50k sl and 20k rp at the end… wtf

Totally agree. As I've said over on the forums, I actually liked the progression system in WT at first. I like having long term goals to aim for, I like the feeling of unlocking new stuff over time. For me, that was a big draw for WT. But after this latest patch? I just don't progress. I can have a good game, get near top of the team, multiple kills, hunting objectives the whole match... and get less in 3 hours than I can get in a 15 minute RB match. It's completely killed my desire to play WT solo, and so now I only play when I can do so with folks from Tea's discord.

What I really don't get is what Gaijin's goal is here? The complete stall of progress doesn't make me want to put money into the game. I have put a fair bit into WT over the past year, on premium time and some vehicles, because I was having fun, and if I'm enjoying a game, I have no issues paying the devs. But I can't see myself putting anything else. There were some nice summer sales, but I refused to touch them purely because of this last patch. If nothing else, these actions really make me feel like the devs just despise sim players... which is not a nice feeling.

If Gaijin hope this will force all Sim players into the AB/RB modes the devs clearly prefer, I can't see it working. As Tea said, all it's going to do it push people towards IL2 and DCS. I've moved over there too. IL2 is a bit daunting at first with the myriad of servers with their own rules, but having made the switch, I am loving that game in multiplayer as much as in singleplayer.

I cant play it properly with rift s.... the performance is terrible, the economy is absolutely trashy, where I don't see any point in playing SB anymore. Because I play for 3 hours and I will not play when I get for 3 hours, 25kills and no death. This is why I play DCS now almost excusively. Thanks again Gaijin, for killing your own game for the 1000th time!

I have problems when the plane has mirrors on the cockpit, the FPS drops and it becomes a headache.

You are completely right about the free advertisement for dcs. I bought an oculus quest 2 months ago and after a little bit of dealing with issues yet amazed at the vr flying experience i jumped to dcs and bought the f18 and have not looked back. War thunder is great but the grind is getting astronomically ridiculous. However damn dcs is such an amazing game. Please pump out content for it

I was playing WT sim regularly. Now I don't, and I recently bought DCS and i am upgrading my PC to play DCS. Money that honestly probably would've been in gaijins pocket if sim was, enjoyable/worth it.

I wasn't able to complete even a single match since Red Skies dropped thanks to broken WMR support.

I had to take a bit of a break between the last few days of Ixwa Strike and the first few days of Red Skies, but I definitely feel that SB has gotten much worse (even at the lower tiers that I play mainly). Just yesterday, for example, there were very few EC2 games open. When one finally did open, there were very few actual players on each team. Even with 4 kills, 2 A point captures and landing properly, I profited by only 7K :/. I really hope SB gets better soon, I'm trying to get my friends into it but it's getting harder and harder for them to want to do it.

Ok, so...I'm sure someone has already noticed this and posted it somewhere but - the main thing ref economy that seems to have changed is that standard aircraft don't have a high reward level, and the better ones have a high repair cost. Whereas a ju288 has a cost about the same as the lower cost fighter's at the same tier, and almost double the SL returns

WT Sim used to be soo good back in the day. I don't really care about the economy, this just hurts my eyes. You won't be seeing me and my Zero in EC3 Port Moresby for a while...at least until this gets fixed.

Recently I have resorted to just using Test Flight, Mission Editor and Custom Missions to get my sim flying fix. As sad as that sounds, I have had to, because of the economy reasons that you have mentioned, and also, I have no other flight sim game options available, as I play on a PlayStation. I would love to give DCS a go, but not in a position at all to be able buy a PC for the foreseeable. I only play Britain and USA, and luckily I already have most of the top tier jets for those two nations, but as newer jets come out, I don't know how on earth I am going to be able to grind for them.
