Ted Cruz Tops GOP Polls Following Obamacare Filibuster

"Although it's still early, polling on the 2016 Republican primaries has been a seesaw affair that is trending in the direction of people who bring up Nazis on the floor of the U.S. Senate. In a poll taken after his epic 21-hour Sillibuster™, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has taken the GOP primary lead from Sen. Rand Paul (R-TX), who took that lead following a filibuster of now-CIA Director John Brennan's nomination.

Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) better start practicing the TENA Twist. After holding a slim lead in several polls earlier this year, the filibuster-free legislator has been left in the dust in the latest poll from Democratic-leaning (but dead-on accurate) Public Policy Polling, even falling behind establishment picks former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL) and Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ).".* Cenk Uygur, John Iadarola, Ben Mankiewicz and Jimmy Dore (The Jimmy Dore Show) break it down on The Young Turks.

My insurance company just sent me a letter saying I was dropped as a result of the ACA, but they're giving me new coverage.

The coverage I had cost me 70$/mo, and the one they're giving me(which I have to buy or the government will charge me fines/prosecute ) will cost 160$/mo.

Tell me more about how my poor ass is benefiting from "affordable healthcare"? I'd rather have NO healthcare than be forced to buy healthcare that I can't afford or be prosecuted.

FORCED healthcare is NOT "affordable."

As a Canadian, I'm delighted to hear that apparently now I can go down to America and run for president.

This Panel is so much better without Ana. Please keep it that way.

Lessons in politics 101: useless gestures that are enormously popular will get you an enormous amount of cred among the stupid, the ill-informed and the insane.

Not needed. His mother is a US citizen and as such he is allowed to run.

I honestly don't care who wins until we get money out of politics... Its just the lesser of two evils in this system...

Political parties have changed dramatically since the 1950s when Eisenhower, a Republican, was president. Things change. A minority or gay person who is a Republican in the U.S. in 2013 is an idiot.

How would Ted Cruz have voted if he had been in office 2007-9 when banks failed and they demaned bailouts? That will be my litmus test. Given that his wife works for Goldman Sachs, I am not optimistic.

Well said. He looked to smug and self satisfied even though all he accomplished long term was to alienate his own party.

I'd still go with Rand Paul

it just goes to show, that in this GOP "war", the voters and grass root activists are rejecting the old style liberal Republicans. It's good to be making some progress at long last.

I'd be so happy if Ted becomes the republican nominee. Republicans would lose so hard.

I think the nominee will be Rand Paul. He will be Barry Goldwater 2.0. He'll get his ass kicked by Hilary Clinton, but probably help drive the Republican party away from social conservatism and the religious right.

Keep in mind that in the last presidential election, pretty much every Republican candidate took turns as the frontrunner. Maybe there is just 35% of the Republican base that has a short attention span.

Because we need 4 more years of this sort of administration.

Obamacare is great! I have never had this great experience.
Thank you Pres Obama for caring about the populous. Thank you Democratic Party for standing up for the populous
It is one thing to be paid below the poverty line, but to do without a home, food or healthcare is inhuman
The Republitards are against abortion, but they don't mind cutting off food stamps and starving millions of American citizens to a slow painful death.
There are no jobs but the Repubs answer is get a job freeloader.

Well, if recent history is an indication, the GOP had a number of candidates for the 2012 elections, each was more conservative and crazier then the others. They chose the least crazy candidate but that proved futile anyway. As a result, the lost in a landslide . I want to give the citizens of the USA the benefit of the doubt and hope they'll make the right decision again.

Other nationalities are interested in American politics as your leader affects the whole world not only your country.

Research what you're talking about.

His parents weren't Canadian, and he really isn't either. His mother was American, which makes him natural born American. He only happens to have Canadian citizenship from being born there.

He's also completely correct on what his position about forced healthcare purchases(government will force you to buy a product)/increased taxes on the poor(which is what the bill includes.)
