Return to Monkey Island is an unexpected, thrilling return of series creator Ron Gilbert that continues the story of the legendary adventure games The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games.

It’s been many years since Guybrush Threepwood was last locked in a battle of wits with his nemesis, the zombie pirate LeChuck. His true love, Elaine Marley, has turned her focus away from governing and Guybrush himself is adrift and unfulfilled, having never found the Secret of Monkey Island. Hip, young pirate leaders led by Captain Madison have shuffled the old guard from power, Melee Island has taken a turn for the worse, and famed businessman Stan has been imprisoned for ‘marketing-related crimes’.

I just finished playing it (not 100%, but got to the end), the art style fits well with the cast of characters and their personalities, it's wonderful to get to hear all the voice actors back (except LeChuck), the puzzles are challenging, yet give you ways to find the solution without always having to drop the answer right on top of you.

I absolutely had a blast, and I would not only love to replay the old ones, but also love more if they ever decided to do more. 9/10 highly recommend

You will forget the graphics and even learn to love them. The characters, story and music are just wonderful again. I (42, having a MI Poster in my home for about 30 years) am so happy Ron and his colleagues made this game.

Wow, Return is getting glowing reviews from the press and the negativity here is partly still beyond words. Played the prologue, feels almost surreal to play a new Monkey Island game in 2022.

The new design reflects the madcap personality of the series. I was concerned the animation would be too stiff, but it seems to squish/stretch more in the game. I am excited to see what antics Guybrush gets into this time.

I massively underestimated this game. The trailers don't do the style justice at all and the voice acting is too quality. I never played any game in the series. I went from hating the style to having it on my wallpaper.
