I love how self-aware this is. I've been addicted to games enough times to be able to know when I am and when I'm just enjoying the game, and also when the enjoyment stops. So now I can easily just stop playing. I no longer get addicted. It makes me so happy to have this self-control; I can still enjoy gaming without shackles. We don't have any obligations to any game. Live. Learn. Grow. Be happy.

I showed this to my roommate, who is a League addict, and he said I am the reason he is still in bronze. I don't play League.

It's simple, as a former league player, you dont have fun for 99% of the time but when you hit that 1% it hits your pleasure center so hard you endure the 99% for it.

Its like the casino, you know you're gonna lose but when you win you feel euphoria beyond of what you can handle

On a real note, games are optimized these days to have insane retention metrics and damn near force players to keep playing. Anyone who’s played these horrible games with addictive lifecycles understands what I’m saying. It’s like they know the exact moment you’re gonna give up and they pull you back in. I’ve been much happier myself since I forced myself to quit those games and limit the games I play now
