Ruby Tutorial 1 - Numeric and String Operations

I show you basic arithmetic and string concatenation in Ruby.

A string is any number of characters (digits, letters, underscores, dashes, spaces, dollar signs etc) enclosed in either single or double quotes. This means that a number enclosed in quotes is really a string while that same number without quotes is truly a number.

It's to open and close a string with the same type of quotes (single or double). For this reason, it's best to type the opening and closing quotes of a string before typing its contents.
