In other words, anyone just can be put into a situation like this and still be successful. It should be another valuable tool, like any other tool, in his or her toolbox. It isn't technology that delivers greater productivity but the net energy received from fossil fuels. The best farm equipment in the future will be powered by muscle given how quickly the net energy from fossil fuels is dropping and how quickly they're being depleted.
