that one shot of the gopro going down and looking up at the cacophany of aerated chaos surrounding the far-away behemoth was absolutely legendary

Bro, the guy who managed the
Drone deserves a medal. Respect for him.

10:22 is legitimately the most cinematic thing I have ever seen happen on camera. Direct hit on the cam and then you see the massive plane still going above. Legendary footage.

That’s not an rc plane, that’s an unmanned aircraft. Difference is subtle

There's something about having that behemoth among all the smaller planes that gives thwe whole event so much more prescence. I would suggest going with a twin tail configuration for more stability. It looks to me like it was slipping and sliding in all the corners, and would def have helped regain control when you were in some of those near stalls. gorgeous flight. :) And the kids feasting, you're awesome for allowing that. :)

Its almost the size of a Cessna I bet you could scare the crap out of ATC with that lmao

I think ground effect saved your cookies at ~8:00. The plane goes from unstable to fully stable in all axes when the wing gets a couple of feet from the ground, i.e. the regime of ground effect. Also, in the final hard landing, you can see the onset of ground effect, but the descent was too dynamic to make a difference.

Wonderful job.

10:22 was either an editing masterpiece, or a perfect moment caught on film. I'm not sure which is more impressive.

The massive plane was like a juggernaut flying through all the small planes

We were all over that video! So much fun Peter! Looking forward to doing it again in 2023.

Quite interesting to note that around 10:52 theres a plane off the left wing that does what seems barrel roll before even touching the huge plane. The only reason I can see this happening might possibly be due to it flying into the wake turbulence of the much bigger RC

The fight scene with the big plane going slow in the middle looked like a mother-ship being attacked! Awesome job and nice editing!

As always, an absolutely fantastic project. You're doing things that normally can only be dreamed of,
thank you for that
