FIELD MEETING Take 5: Thinking Projects - Nancy Adajania
"How Not to be a Footnote to Western Art History" (Day 2, October 15, 2017)
In this keynote address, Adajania provides a glimpse into the research process and mythologies in her book the Thirteen Place: Positionality as Critique in the Art of Najot Altaf. In the broader context of contemporary Indian art, her critical investigations of lost, misremembered, or neglected histories also focus on producing regionally inflected vocabularies and histories that do not appear as mere footnotes to western art history.
An annual signature program of Asia Contemporary Art Week, FIELD MEETING Take 5: Thinking Projects was a two-day forum dedicated to newly conceived performances, lecture-performances, and lively discussions, hosted at Asia Society Museum & SVA Theatre, New York on October 14 & 15. Curated by ACAW Director, Leeza Ahmady.
