My #1 piece of wisdom is to learn how to learn! In a world where so many people are hand-fed info via schools, once they are out of school they really struggle to learn new things on their own. Most of the tech you learn today will be outdated within 5 to 10 years and you will need to be able to keep yourself up to date on the latest tech trends. Find good blogs and add them to an RSS feed and spend 30 minutes everyday learning at least one new concept. Keep those brains of yours plastic! :)

Best thing ever for me was focusing on fundamentals. Once the focus is here and certain threshold of knowledge is acquired, learning technologies is seamless.

They should strongly consider whether or not they want a career in tech. Mismanagement, 'grind/hustle' culture, long lay offs, lack of demand, etc. etc. etc. Only do this if you actually want to do it as a hobby first. They should not enter this field just because it might be a 'better job.'

After 23 years in this business all I can advise to young people is find some other job. Something that can't be replaced by ML algorithms.
You will have to learn 10x more than SW devs 20 years ago for 30% lower salary (adjusted for inflation) and 10x higher chance you will be jobless in 5-10 years.
