Such attacks should carry life sentences without parole

The fact she can talk about this without crying…seriously such a brave girl. I had to stop myself from crying while listening to her talk.

The consequence for throwing acid on someone should be 45 years to life, even if you've never been in trouble.

"We complain so much more than we're grateful". Girl, I'm humbled. Thank you

I would go to jail for life if someone did this to my daughter. I would do things even the devil would find disturbing. I cannot believe the world we live in. Disgusting. What a brave and strong woman she is. An inspiration to all of us. To not take for granted our lives and circumstances.

This young woman was an inspiration to a 57-year-old man suffering with multiple sclerosis, paralysis and a whole lot of pain. I’m losing my eyesight now. Point is, I’m that person that’s not doing too well as far as looking at the positive side of things. This proud, determined lady helped me have a bearable night. I don’t know how I found this video, it just came up. Thank you for helping me tonight young lady.

Nafiah is so smart and wise. They tried to destroy her but made her invincible instead. Her spirit is a light in the darkness.

“You can wake up and be miserable. Or you can wake up and be happy and thank God”. THAT is right sister. I needed that.

Poor girl I can't believe people can be so so cruel. She's seems like such a sweet person.

The more I listen to these stories of acid-attacks, I realise these (typically male) attackers throw acid at the the most wholesome souls.
The fact that they're still out the is the scariest thing in the world.
Why should women be scared of stepping out of their homes? What kind of men do this? Why do these men feel the need to threaten, control and dominate women?
We want to feel safe. Stop threatening women.

Why are people so evil? God bless this girl. She was telling this story and laughing at one point. This girl is so brave and inspiring

You see that's the kind of thing that scares the hell out of me the fact that someone could just randomly come up from behind and throw something at you and you don't even know how to react. I really feel for what happened to her but she has so much strength to tell her story. I hope they caught the guy who did this and he's serving life.

This girl’s knowledge of being grateful for life everyday is spot on.

My first thought was that I can’t bear to watch this today. Then I realized that if this young woman can recount such an unspeakable trauma, then I can honor her by hearing it. She is exactly the kind of person we need in medicine. May Nafiah and her GenZ peers push to fix what is broken.
Edit: After reading comments I realized my last sentence was vague. I was referring to her going into medicine and should’ve said may she & her GenZ peers (age of current med students) fix what is broken in healthcare systems—not violent crime. That’s on all of us.
For those who think it weird that a doctor wouldn’t be affected by this story, all I’ll say is I have daughters this age and…I’m human.

An acid attack is the most cowardly and vile thing someone can do, some people are truly evil, they need to catch the guy that did it and they need to make the punishments far more severe. Cowards

its so crazy how even such a traumatic incident nearly killed her... yet she still stated that she could have been completely blind, but she still looks on the positive side.
