This song describes a dance craze that swept the country in the early 1900s. A dance for degenerates, so be warned! It was banned in New York City, among other places. It’s “The Dance Of The Grizzly Bear,“ by George Botsford and Irving Berlin, Published in 1910. If you are familiar with the song “Everybody’s Doing It,”this song is about that very same dance.
