Prince William: Kate 'doing really well'

Prince William has given an update on the condition of the Princess of Wales following her cancer treatment saying 'she's doing really well'.

The Prince of Wales is in South Africa for the fourth annual Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony, the environmental prize he launched in 2021.

He says that "everyone wants some hope and optimism" when it comes to environmental issues, and the prize "encompasses urgent optimism".

Young people will also be largely present at the awards and Prince William praises their efforts on fighting climate change saying "without them, the future is bleak".

I live in Kalk Bay where William was 2 days ago. We were ecstatic to know that he came to our small fishing village. We didn't know he was going to grace us with is presence. And then while going through our usual daily activities this cavalcade drove through our main road towards our fishing harbour and we realised that it's GOT TO BE William. So much excitement for us that he visited a village inhabited by normal people and not the rich and famous. We loved having him here. ❤❤❤

Urgently, loss of lives from any flooding is also directly a matter of Climate Change. All countries, particularly those that have traumatic loss from floods: the drainage systems need focus and improvements to save people and property. Review with planned drainage systems that emphatically change how rain/storm water flows through higher land into rivers and dams. Flooding in lower ground because of overflow and bursting of banks of rivers and dams cause catastrophic loss. More action is need through a sound plan with targets for solutions with timelines. We are addressing new ongoing problems with old solutions. We need to evolve ahead of the problems. Relocate cities away from the coast. Pipe water away from flood areas . Keeping away sea destruction is a massive and expensive task. Flow of water from land into the sea can reverse to cause great destruction with all storm problems. Higher ground with sound foundation for buildings and roads, etc, are necessary. Kindly, and prayers for success.
