The hebrew word which is written in the book of jonah 1:17 is "דג גדול"(Dag gadol) which means "a huge fish". here the gender of the fish is masculine[Strong's Hebrew 1709 דג]. but in Jonah 2:1, it is written הדגה(hadagah). here the gender of the fish is feminine [Strong's Hebrew 1710 דָּגָה]. does that mean that Jonah was swalloed by a male fish but he prayed inside from a female one?
Answer: The root of dag is dagah which primerly mean "To cover with darkness", not only in hebrew but in Arabic and in greek this word denotes the idea of covering of darkness or intense darkness. [Gesenius Hebrew and Chaldee Lexicon of Old Testament page 189]. Hence the translation should be "And jonah was in the deepth of deep covering darkness three days and three nights" Jonah 1:17
"Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of deep covering darkness" jonah 2:1
As it is written in the quran "AND remember him of the great fish, when he went off in wrath, thinking that We had no power over him, But then he cried out in the deep darkness (of his distress):"There is no deity save Thee! Limitless art Thou in Thy glory Verily, I have done wrong" [Quran 21:87].

It wasn’t a whale. It clearly says in Jonah that God PREPARED a fish to devour him, so whatever it was came by God’s hand and left by His hand.

Why are bible characters white? Worship God in truth and what the characters really look👁️ like.
