Kenneth Ray Rogers (August 21, 1938 – March 20, 2020) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, actor, record producer, and entrepreneur. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
March 21, 2020, Kenny Rogers passed away at the age of 81.

"Lucille" is a song written by Roger Bowling and Hal Bynum, and recorded by American country music artist Kenny Rogers. It was released in January 1977 as the second and final single from the album 'Kenny Rogers'. It became Rogers' first major hit as a solo artist after leaving the successful country/rock group The First Edition the previous year. An international hit, it reached number 1 on the Billboard Country Singles chart and number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. Overseas, "Lucille" reached the top of the UK Singles Chart in June 1977, the first of Rogers' two number one singles there.

In a career that spanned more than six decades, Kenny Rogers left an indelible mark on the history of American music. His songs have endeared music lovers and touched the lives of millions around the world. Chart-topping hits like "The Gambler," "Lady," "Islands In The Stream," "Lucille," "She Believes In Me," and "Through the Years" are just a handful of Kenny Rogers' songs that have inspired generations of artists and fans alike. I feel this song.
Some women tell me that we men don't care where we get some, but believe it or not, ladies, some of us men can't make it happen in the sack when we know a woman's actions or attitudes are unacceptable to us.
Lucille wouldn't be getting any from me when I know she could leave a man; especially with four hungry children and a crop in the field.
I'd have told the man, "Yo, I didn't know she was married. I'm stepping off. Lucille, go back to them."
