When Kathy's name was announced, she walked up to Anjelica, and they kissed each other on the cheek. Very sweet. Kind of like, "thank you for giving me my big break", "you're welcome".

No offense against Anjelica but NO ONE could have done a better job than Kathy Bates in Misery....her acting and embodiment of the character is some of THE best acting of the last 30 years.

But it’s not a bad thing to be remembered for such a terrifying and admirable performance.

Anjelica didn't look the part. I can't imagine what anyone was thinking! Kathy Bates was physically perfect. Of course, I had read the book when it was released, which is why I find Angelica unsuitable.

I could’ve gone either way on Anjelica or Kathy for the Oscar. They were both extraordinary. I still think Angelica’s best role was “The Dead, ” directed by her father. A small little gem of a film that packs a punch in its quiet way. Was she even nominated for The Dead? She only has one great scene towards the end, but you’ll never forget it.
