It’s all legal moves to protect assets from civil suits. Everyone remember though, Scientology is the BIG fish that needs to be reeled in and taken down. Danny and his assets are included in the suits but secondary. If Bijou and her daughter manage to cling to a portion of their family assets I don’t think many will complain. Get the BIG fish!

Assuming they are still together that is, I knew them 10+ years ago so could be wrong, but they had been married/together for many, many years then. I don't think it's a coincidence he's rep'ing her.

When my husband was too far gone in his alcoholism, I legally separated, to protect my accounts and assets, so my son and I were financially okay, if he was ever held to account for action he made in a alcoholic state or blackout. We did live together for a while, but it continued to get too unpredictable for our toddler. Unfortunately, he eventually passed from alcohol induced cardiac arrest. This was when I lived in Clearwater, FL 2006-2009

Legal separation is totally a 'thing' I have been legally separated (for real) for 10 years. Wish I had assets to protect, custody battle has caused much debt... Hope the appeals fall thru for DM.

Their taxes would need to be filed separately if they were legally separated. You would be able to tell on their tax returns

Legal separation in California like many other states is a process supervised by the court. You have to fill out official court documents. The court has to give approval for asset separation and child custody. You are still legally married but assets and child They can't just have a notary say they are legally separated. They have to go through official proceedings to get it done.

Yep, spot on, Aaron. Had friends who fought about $$ so they separated their assets and each was able to maintain their separate finances. Lived together more peacefully for years after the separation.

Yes. As I have been saying in every single live chat and several comment sections- these two are NOT SEPARATED. They are not separatING. They are not divorcing. They are not divorced. They are making these moves to protect half of his assets by putting them in her name (or more than half, if he can legally get away with it).

It’s actually VERY SMART. Five years ago you will notice was exactly when the Jane does came forward with their accusations against him. He must have been informed by a lawyer that if he tried to move assets around or get divorced at the last minute I’m order to hide assets from these women if they filed suit against him, that the court would see through that and order him to pay them from assets anyway. However, initiating all of this 5 years ago gives him “plausible deniability” if the court accuses him of divorcing her to shield his assets.

It’s basically an extra layer of defense, to make the divorce that’s coming look more real. Lll
