Same!! My phone is also 7 years old and working just fine. There is no reason for me to shell out a ton of money for the latest and greatest when my old-as-dirt phone does everything I need. Strip mining the environment for metals just so you can have a shiny new one is insane.

Working in IT I am personally convinced that Apple does a good job providing fixes for security breaches also for quite old models, so they last longer. As an IT geek I would not use a phone that is out of updates for longer (e.g. 1 year), since these devices are super powerful and they know sooo much about you.

For the price why buy a new phone, I certainly don’t wanna be on my phone all the time and that one kinda influences that decision even more!
