"Third show of the tour and it was the best thus far. Same setlist as the prior, minus the swap out for Condemnation. It was a real treat! Great to hear both Martin and Dave singing on that one. Band seemed to be more energetic at this show and probably just getting more comfortable being back on stage after 5 years. I was concerned as my seat was right on the aisle, but no issues all night. People dancing in the aisle on the floor. It was pretty cool. Tapes turned out great. "

First Depeche Mode concert for me. They’ve helped me navigate so many challenging experiences in life. Thank you for capturing this performance. 🖤

EDIT: I’m not sure if anyone will see this update, but I mainly want to leave this here as a note for myself regarding the emotions I felt during this performance, I think some may be able to relate. I had a very life changing (and safe) trip during this concert. This past year, I lost my grandmother and was also navigating an exhausting work and college schedule. I lost touch with my identity for many months and was also coping with a recent ADHD diagnosis as an adult. Hearing Martin and Dave perform songs like “Speak to Me” and their album hit “Ghosts Again” in a space with hundreds— if not thousands of people had me reflecting heavily on my own mortality and existence. Yet, I was embracing my grief while simultaneously feeling euphoric— a beautifully painful but awakening experience. As Stripped, one of my all time favorite tracks began, I was reminded of how much I continue to deeply desire to live, to love myself and others, and ultimately be happy. I’ll be seeing Depeche Mode again in November with my partner, I hope he can understand the depth of their music and how it’s literally saved me. Stay safe everyone, thank you for sharing as well!
