*Update for January 2024* : Amazon support has reportedly informed an author recently that keywords in the title and subtitle don't have an impact on the platform's search algorithm. This is certainly not my experience, nor the experience of any other successful low-content/medium-content publisher I've ever known. Amazon's algorithms have continued to advance rapidly and become more sophisticated, but the precise inner workings remain undisclosed information to the public. How can you tell the diffrence between the title and subtitle when you look at it? It looks like one big title. Sounds like a duh question, but embarrsingly it confuses me a little.

UPDATE August 2022: I can no longer see anything in Amazons title guide about not adding dimension info to the subtitle.... ? Has this become allowed since they made low content books an actual *thing* on the platform!? I have no idea... Let me know if you know!

You do not need to put keywords in the description because Amazon does not index them.... true, but Google does, so why not do it just in case people search directly on Google.
Best titles? I like clean, concise, up to the point titles. Who wants to read those never ending nonsensical titles from people who don't play by the rules? Besides, the algorithm ends up working against their books, not help them.

I would be particularly interested if we could use the word 'gift' in the subtitle, as I've heard that some people encountered issues because of it. You gave an example of a book that had the following expression in its title: ”Great Gift Idea for Hiker, ... ”. Is it correct? Can we be penalized or have our account closed for something like this?
