Howard Terminal vs. Treasure Island?

Показать описание
The Treasure Island/Yerba Buena Island Development Project is creating a new San Francisco neighborhood, including homes offered at below-market rates, multiple public transportation connections, extensive parks and open space, public art, hotels, restaurants and more.

The Islands are growing into a community of up to 8,000 homes, including homes at below-market rates and approximately 27% affordable housing in total.

The project’s design grows out of Treasure and Yerba Buena Islands’ remarkable natural setting and rich history. It is oriented around a progressive design philosophy reflecting San Francisco’s commitment to sustainability

It’s owned by San Francisco, NOT Alameda County or Oakland.

Money talks Brodie! I lived on Oakland all my life. And recently got assigned to Sunnyvale 4 years ago trough my job. One thing I see is google and apple buying anything they want and it gets build in no time. There is never any apposition they but out the property and in no time it’s built.

As an Oakland Port Commissioner, let me just say: "Brilliantly done; great questions."

Treasure island is owned by SF/SF county now. They are using an IFD to pay for infrastructure.

It's man made and would be a horrible place to be in an earthquake. Remember the Marina District during the Loma Prieta in 1989? Liquifaction would destroy everything on the island. This a death trap in the making and I would go nowhere near it.

Lol, it’s San Francisco! They’re the big dawgs in the region. Shit don’t shake around that water unless the City say so.

Use to do some naval training there back in the day. The views are crazy if they can get it going.

TI is a horrible idea. First off, if you think attendance is low now, imagine adding the toll from the East Bay side just to go to a game. Second, they would need to fully redo the off/on ramps there. Unless there is a plan for BART or free/discounted tolls to get to the games, the TI idea is a bad deal for the A's and their fans. W/ in 5 years of first playing a game there the A's will be moving to Vegas. Get the Howard Terminal construction started or just let them leave.

Treasure Island was originally meant to be SFO after the World's Fair (And was briefly used by Pan Am flying boats. Hence the terminal that still stands there). Imagine it today if that had happened. 🤯

What are the wind impacts of a new soccer stadium on Treasure Island, I wonder?

Howard terminal has too many cooks in the kitchen. And that's probably why it's been difficult to build on that site.

The running joke I have about Howard Terminal is that someone already moved in: USNS John Glenn. Go Team MSC!!

Wow…… just wow. This is terrible. Brodie, I don’t know if you are intentionally misleading people with terrible analysis or you are so caught up with BS you are starting to believe it. You are comparing a several billion dollar ballpark to a community park smaller than most high school football stadiums.
