Nobody's talking about the poor little Franco guy. I actually felt sorry for him losing this match. He tried very hard to catch valir in the mid river bush section and him constantly body blocking all the first skills of valir. He was a good tank.

Valir has been my main for as long as I’ve played mages, I love how he synergizes with IQW and GW. To be kind of a troll but also really increase survivability I add Guardian helmet as soon as I get done with Glowing wand

As a valir main, he has always been a menace. People only realize his potential after the buff because it made him more beginner friendly. (Back then, his first skill only reset when killing minions and hitting hero). It's a shame people found him now and I can't even pick him anymore in ranked match.

One thing i find very useful about valir but not a lot of people using is that he can be built with def items especially for those burst assassins and mages and he'll still be amazing with the constant slows and hp based damage

I wish Valir’s 1st skill is like Vexana’s first skill which does not hit the minions, only burn them then hits the heroes behind them. That will solve Valir’s issue of reaching the backlines.

Valir was the main reason i started using rapid boots more. 100% of the time they will build ice cream wand and rapid boots can somehow mitigate the slow effect.

Valir rose to being a very solid mage was because the Valir's skills can give meta heroes especially the divers like Khufra, Ling and Arlott a much more difficult time. Another reason is actually due to Yve's consistent nerfs, her ult range got nerfed so she cannot compete against Pharsa in terms of range but she got a damage buff and the 75% slow was quite godly because she can almost replicate immobilize, the slow nerf (75%-40% max slow without ice queen) really made a lot of players consider Valir as an alternative because Yve can now slow just as much as him but he has stuns and pushback. Nowadays Valir (and Novaria) are now giving Yve a lot of pressure in the current meta, the recent nerf on Yve in the advance server where they remove the extra damage for minions might make her weaker again than now bc her wave clear is now slower. On top of that the supports especially Rafaela with the crazy movement speed boost and brief slow immunity will really affect Yve a lot.

Valir has always been a pretty solid mage; some decent cc including slow, stun, & some annoying-ass knockback, & even an anti-cc. But more ppl have turned to him for the annoying slows due to the nerf on Yve's slow effect.

Valir always has been a pain in the ass for melee heroes and used to be my pick against them. I dont play mlbb anymore, but I'm glad to see my guy is doing well.

I feel like Valir is a counter for Estes 😅 that constant burn and stuns. Also after he is level 2, he farm way faster than the rest of the mages making it the easy to roam

His cc immune ult with high regen makes him dealing with Valir a lot more easier

I prefer using the basic common emblem on valir, it allows me to skip demon shoes in favor for defensive shoes to stay alive longer
