Fellow magician, @DanielRoy used the similar trick with the closed hands together in his 10 Levels of Magic video. The principle is the same for the turning the hand, palm down, without turning the wrist. Your arm has two bones, radius and ulna, which when you turn your wrist, it makes those bones cross each other.

Ummm even with the explanation it makes no sense
