I love warming up my bathroom before taking a shower. It feels so luxurious and helps me avoid drying out my skin because I don't have to use super hot water to stay warm since the bathroom is warmed up. We don't turn on our central heating unless the interior temperature of our house is 60 or colder.

Ohhhh I knew you were my people 😊

I have space heaters in every room.. too!!
I think they are great. They knock the edge off the coolness in the rooms with minimal cost.

Since there are two windows in the bedroom, the one near the bed could be closed off for the winter with a piece of plywood cut to fit. If the window faces the street, a blind pulled down or a frosted plastic sold to adhere to windows could be between the plywood and the glass to make the look acceptable from the street. Insulation could also be added. Everything could be removed and stored during the warm and hot seasons to be able to open the window and increase air movement.

I have a Vornado Tower heater in my bathroom. The heat comes out at the perfect height to heat my cast iron tub. The rest of the room stays cool when it is super cold out, but that heat really helps.

Thank youu!! This is VERY helpful. We live in an 820 sq ft home w/out central hvac. We’ve gone thru MANY space heaters. The one that’s lasted longest is the oil burning electric radiator I’ve had since 1984 lol.

An idea from Japan is a type of table with a heater that is covered with a quilt like cloth; people sit at the table with the quilt ends over their legs getting warm. Now, those heaters are electric and the quilts might include a space blanket like layer.
The Japanese often cover windows with clear insultation for the winter. It looks like a kind of bubble wrap.

Thanks for these reviews. Our ceiling fan is good for pushing the warm air from the space heater down from the ceiling because warm air rises. It makes a major difference when the fan is on and when it's off. Your feet can end up cold if you don't have a fan to push down the warm air.

Those heaters look great. We have one as a back-up if we need it. Have you considered starting a savings fund to get new windows for rooms that you really need them? We replaced all our windows about 20 years ago. It dropped our electric bill by at least 20%. It's great not to waste electricity or natural gas, because of leaky windows. Where we live, the A/C is used more than the heat.

I noticed that it looks like its plugged into a power strip if it is that is so dangerous. My husband plugged our space heater into a power strip and melted the power strip and the plug in the wall as well as the wire in the wall. Very lucky our houses did not catch on fire. I only plug space heaters into a plug on the wall now.

These look great. I will check them out. I was hoping you were going to let us know how much more your electric bill is with these heaters. Have you had them long enough to see the extra cost on your electric bill? Thanks much for sharing. I liked the one you had on the wall in your bathroom.

This is a great review and so informative. Have you and Larry used the shrink wrap window film to help insulate the windows?

I just got a Dreo radiant heater, its kind of like an old fashioned radiator, no fan. It is in my basement family room and so far it's kept the large room really nice and cozy and I've been checking my electric usage and so far it's not using very much electric at all. I also have a small space heater in our bedroom, my husband and I spend alot of time in there, we have recliners and a TV, so we figure why heat the whole house to 73 degrees when we are basically only in one room.

Great information. Question though, how easy are they to clean?
