Samson Servo 240 Power Amplifier Repair

Intermittent Audio Output

Common issue with the older Samson Servo range due to the speaker protection relay contact wearing and becoming resistive over time.

Replacing the 24 VDC DP/ DT relay is straight forward, once the top cover has been removed its a simple matter of removing the screws securing the Amplifier PCB to chassis, then the screws securing the back panel to the outer case.

The PCB can then be turned upwards, and the relay replaced.
The relay is mounted just below the spring loaded speaker terminals.

The Amplifier was fully tested and operated perfectly

I have a Samson Servo 240. It sounds clean. At power up the left channel gets a good bit hotter than the right. Stays that way for ten minutes and then cools back down. Pushing the amp hard does not increase temperature on either channel. Seems that left channel biasing circuit is changing during initial warmup. Have swapped all four left channel output transistors with the right channel. No change so output transistors are ok. Any ideas? Thanks
