Was there "forced" Hellenism? Daniel and 1 Maccabees seem to argue that this was the case, but John Collins and other scholars argue that this is propaganda, and that these authors blamed Greeks, rather than "non-pious" Jews, who gladly adopted Hellenistic culture.

Hellenism originally meant, proper use of the Greek language. It expanded into what Dr. Miller is saying afterwards.

To what degree is Hellenization overplayed? We are told that Aristotle condemned Alexander for adopting other cultures. Neither did some of his influential generals, perhaps even more influential than Alexander, such as Ptolemy I diverge from genuinely adopting foreign systems.

Wow! That seems very similar to how the modern world wants to be Americanized.

Being scholarly doesn't mean one is wise. There is a big difference between the two.

The myth of the 4 elephants of a giant turtle or tortoise supporting or containing the world occurs in Hindu mythology, in Chinese mythology and in Native American mythology.
This is the World and kingdoms that the four kingdoms of Alexander the Great could not conquer. It was prophesied in the Book of Daniel. Alexander the Great died after attacking India and his Kingdom was divided into four. And Rome became the 6th Kingdom in the Book of Revelation. There was other Kingdoms in the world.
Matthew 4:8 Again the Devil took him along to an unusually high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to him: “All these things I will give you if you fall down and do an act of worship to me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”
