ABOUT & GAMEPLAY: EMPIRES OF THE UNDERGROWTH
Empires of the Undergrowth is an ant colony management game, in a fast-paced real-time strategy style. The player excavates their nest underground, constructing tunnels and chambers to store food and raise brood. On the surface, the ants claim territory, gather resources, overwhelm fearsome arachnids and clash with other colonies. Nest design, army size, composition and attack timing are key to securing victory.

Another thing, when it comes to ants in the building menu, their class is judged by the little icon in the bottom right of their little boxes. The ones with the green square with a little hammer are workers, the ones with the blue square shield are tanks, the yellow square target icon means ranged, and the red square with the sword are attackers. A good strat is tanks or attackers, combined with rangers. Soldiers can only gather food and resources.

Blitz. When it comes to nursing in this game, you don’t just assign ants to do it. You are given a batch of 7 nursery ants to tend to the nest. Leave the nursery ants (ones with little crown sign) in the pheromone group(The group with the little hexagon above it) to tend to nest duties. They will build tiles, move eggs, and other nest tasks. Nursery ants can also upgrade ants. Only workers can build and tend to the nest.

One more tip. When it comes to building ant chambers, try to make it into a hexagonal shape. This will allow for the easiest upgrades with the smallest amount of alterations.

Hey Blitz, if you want to make the most of your army, try to keep at least 19 (thats an hexagon with a 2 tile radius) as your frontliners then support them with either 7-19 mortar ants or 20+ rapid fire ants. You either want the hard hitting AoE of the mortars or the near constant fire of the rapid fire ants to be your main damage dealers. A key to winning fights in this game is to have the ability to win a war of attrition by ensuring you kill faster and survive longer.

collect as much food as you can and when it starts snowing get your ants inside the nest and collect food from the underground by digging this way your ants can stay warm and collect food
