-Willow was a disaster!
-Rings of Power was a massive disaster!
-Blood Origin was a catastrophic disaster!

Also this is a historical moment in Knight's Watch when Tyranth walked out of a review from a dumpster fire of a show and that is very telling of how bad it was.

So... There are 4 clans at war with each other for a thousand years, one king arranges the clans to meet to stop the war so they can have peace. The generals of the clans don't like this so they conspire together, with their enemies, to kill the clan chiefs, then they all swear fealty to the new empress and so end up at peace !!!!
How TF does that make any sense ?

I've always wanted elven fiction at the height of their power and grace - much of such fantasy is with the Elves in their decline, or as marred and grimdark.

Instead we get Rings of Power and Witcher BO. What a time to be alive.

We are indeed in the dark ages of fantasy TV shows, and the worst is yet to come.

Mysterious Lady that is all the places: Elves need to hear this story because of all their anger.
Elven guerilla fighters utilizing terror to resist human encroachment, discrimination, and lowkey genocide: *hear the WBO story*
Elves: I guess we deserve everything humans are doing to us after all.

roughly 30:00 "Conquest for the sake of conquest is rarely the point, there is usually a reason". I agree, for example, the Crusader Kings franchise has taught me that the best reason for conquest is to remove border gore from the maps, to make them look pretty.

Fantasy and Science Fiction has been absolutely mauled beyond recognition by current writers. Because both genres are difficult to write, current writers hate them, so put in the minimalist efforts imaginable.

I'm a Polish person, not that it means much, but watching one of our greatest cultural exports get butchered over and over again kinda hurts my soul.

No matter how used I got to watching terrible media, seeing The Witcher get disrespected will always bother me.

Can wait until they get to episode 4. Episode 4 may be the worst episode of television ever.

Somehow the 2000's campy fantasy shows were better than the ones from the 2020's. And that's saying something.

Don't worry Marcus, disliking the first season is actually pretty based take in the eyes of hardcore Witcher fans. I hated the show from the beginning.

I have re-read the Witcher books so many times I literally know them by heart so this ... abomination is a personal insult to me.

Ooooh here we go!! Make sure that Marcus gets treatment for boiling blood because this will hurt a Wticher-fan :D

Also, what was the channel that Marcus said we should check out if we wanted to learn more about Sapkowski's involvement in witcher-content? I could not hear the name of it and subtitles did not pick it up either.

10:55 Squires don’t get the power to summon pictures. Only knights can do that.😂

Personally I don't know what this thing, this Blood Origin has to do with the witcher at all! The Nightmare of the Wolf, the anime Vesemir prequel at least had stronger connection, it used canon character and netflix's retelling of the canonic event, even if exact course of events of the massacre of Kaer Morhen were not laid down by Sapkowski (so the movie is more dramatization based on the script writers ideas), but at least the worldbuilding seemed to firmly root it (and it had used some elements that were mentioned in original books, the book/pamphlet scolding the witchers, Monstrum or Portrayal of Witcher by anonymous mage, the peasant riling up and the mob led by sorcerers etc. there was even king of Kaedwen Dagread as in lore existed in genealogical info on royal lines of Sapkowski, though supposedly it is assumed that in backstory of the books the massacre at Kaer Morhen potentially happened during the rule of king Benda, Dagread's son). This show/mini series, it's hard to say what it is, it doesn't FEEL like a witcher or set in this world, it certainly does not use Sapkowski witcher lore on the early state of the world, like these fragments about the earliest human colonization etc.:

"Upriver we saw their towns, as delicate as if they were woven from the morning mist out of which they loomed. It seemed as if they would disappear a moment later, blown away on the wind which rippled the surface of the water. There were little palaces, white as nenuphar flowers; there were little towers looking as though they were plaited out of ivy; there were bridges as airy as weeping willows. And there were other things for which we could find no word or name. Yet we already had names for everything which our eyes beheld in this new reborn world. Suddenly, in the far recesses of our memories, we found the words for dragons and griffins, mermaids and nymphs, sylphs and dryads once more. For the white unicorns which drank form the river at dusk, inclining their slender necks towards the water. We named everything. And everything seemed to be close to our hearts, familiar to us, ours.

Apart from them. They, although so resembling us, were alien. So very alien that, for a long time, we could find no word for their strangeness."

Conjunction of the Spheres while has enormous consequences and so on, is far, far before any first witchers. The creation of the witchers was done by humans, by their mages and sorcerers, great legendary figures to be exact, Cosimo Malaspina, Alzur and his student Idarran of Ulivo etc.

"‘And I will tell you additionally, ’ gasped Ortolan, ‘that you have disgraced the work of your fathers with this imprudent murder. Because it was Cosimo Malaspina, and after him his apprentice Alzur, exactly Alzur that created witchers. It was they that invented mutation, thanks to which you were created. Thanks to which you exist, thanks to which you walk the world, you ingrate. You should esteem Alzur, and his followers, and their work and not destroy them…”

Season of Storms

The first human settlers arrived thousand or so years AFTER Conjunction.

"You're reading Roderick de Novembre? As far as I remember, there are mentions of witchers there, of the first ones who started work some three hundred years ago. In the days when the peasants used to go to reap the harvest in armed bands, when villages were surrounded by a triple stockade, when merchant caravans looked like the march of regular troops, and loaded catapults stood on the ramparts of the few towns night and day. Because it was us, human beings, who were the intruders here. This land was ruled by dragons, manticores, griffins and amphisboenas, vampires and werewolves, striga, kikimoras, chimerae and flying drakes. And this land had to be taken from them bit by bit, every valley, every mountain pass, every forest and every
meadow. And we didn't manage that without the invaluable help of witchers. But those times have gone, Geralt, irrevocably gone."

What exactly will this be about? The Elder Blood, Aen Hen Ichaer? And the bloodlines created with it, the Aen Seidhe and Aen Elle civilizations, their frienship with unicorns? Doesn't seem like it. At least if they tried to make this about Lara Dorren and Cregennan of Lod...then the storytelling potential is much better and is closer to witcher canon and as prequel more relevant for the main story of the witcher saga! What with the Falka's rebellion, Lara's child Riannon etc. This doesn't seem to try to use the lore known from the books about elven civilization, it's grand magnificent ciites of marbles and alabaster, great cities and structures that once dotted the entire northern portion of continent the Celtic-like culture mixed in with the antiquity Greco-Roman feel of theirs :).

So...from the context of the article it seems that Blood Origin WILL refer to the Aen Hen Ichaer bloodline...except in context of the lore and worldbuilding of Sapkowski it does not make sense that it will apparently spontanously begin this bloodline from the black woman...because Hen Ichaer was specially made, an effect of eugenic experiments of the elves, particularly their Aen Saevherne the Knowing ones the mysterious elven sages and most likely the driving force behind the experimentation were the Aen Elle IN EFFECT of the Conjunction closing the Ard Gaeth the Gate of Worlds so the cause effect chain, Conjunction happens, the stable portal gate closes preventing from free dimensional travel, elves want to reclaim the power over the gate and so breed a new type of abilties building up a new gene, supposedly with the help of unicorns (it's unclear but possibly they somehow STOLE their innate ability of travelling between worlds and created the Aen Hen Ichaer bloodline which was carefully bred and selected over the next generations leading to Lara Dorren...the blond woman :) elf who is direct ancestor of Ciri.
