Katie, I often wonder why many huge-selling & award-winning authors have such a tiny web presence. H. Murakami, J. Franzen, T. Morrison, etc. have no social media. Not even a webpage! Recent best-selling authors like Gillian Flynn, Karen Russell, Kathryn Stockett--heck, even EL James-- none are highly web present. The big publishers have that much marketing effect these days to "make" these authors? Quality writing & editing? What's the story that makes these sell, and others who try so hard sell so little. Thanks.
