I bought my popup tent today, I watched other videos on youtube, but when I folded it like their vidoes, i only got 3 large rings which really did not fit into my bag, I knew I needed 4 rings but i couldnt figure out how to do it! and the instructions on paper were nasty! Thanks fella. I bought this tent to go to a festival and thought id test it in my garden first. Got the thing up no problem but have tried for ages to get this thing down and in the bag!! Followed your instructions and got it down and in the bag in one go! Cheers

Used this tent a lot during wild camping between 2012 and 2014, the stitching and stitch tape was nice. Eventhough, it's not really water resistent. I used wax spray to make it waterresistant, but to be sure, I covered it with plastic foil and that somewhat fixed water resistance. I agree, with the ground sheet, it's very thin. But I always placed it on a thicker groundsheet. The groundsheet of the tent, it isn't that great when there is water under it. Putting it back in the bag is an absolute HELL, I still remember the people who laughed their asses off while I was trying to fold it back together on the social camping place. Took me over an hour, somebody offered help to try it, but I refused, because if the tent is to break, I should be the one who is doing it.

It's now 2020, still got the tent, has some holes in them. Was easy to patch. Gonna use it again soon. It's prolly the lowest weight pop-up tent and easy to carry. Even though it's old, great memories... Your video helped me a lot, when I patched the holes in my tent I needed to fold it back into the bag and I forgot how. Thank you @spidiq8 !

Got another one, but that one is it's bigger brother, has 2 fiberglass hoops, like almost all pop up tents nowadays. A LOT easier to fold. Simply love those tents! Only hoping they make one with a thicker ground sheet and an extra cover, because of the condensation. But if I find another one of these, the Quickpitch Compact, I would buy it again.

You're welcome, just make sure that yours fits without sticking out too much, this is the only one that packs as small, others of the same design form a much larger diameter circle and I'd be wary of 'backpack' carrying on a bike. This one 'just' sticks out past shoulder width but only a little.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed, it's a nice tent and really well priced to, as for fitting in a rucksack, No, I don't have any really large packs, certainly nothing wide enough for one of these. However i've seen some framed ones where the folded tent would fit in the frame i'm sure.

Yes, i'm up in the highlands, West coast up near the Isle of Skye, it's lovely up here and best of all, wild camping isn't banned or discouraged in Scotland either, so if you like camping and on the cheap, it's a great place for a camping / trekking hol and some amazing scenery too

cheer mate, thanks for the insight im away camping with it over the weekend, the reviews seem to say its watertigth for sure, but fingers crossed the condensation isnt an issue, keep the vents well open anyways! thanks fella!

Thanks, there's definitely a gap in the market for 1-man tents with headroom to sit up.
A 1-man is about half the size and half the weight of a 2-man, so there must be lots of solo campers like me who don't want to needlessly lug a big 2-man job around.

Hi,
I take your point about accents,
I'm not "ee by gum" Lancashire, either !
Obviously around Snowdonia, is a great scenic area, but, they don't let you pitch anywhere,
I've been spoiled to an extent- staying in a caravan on Haven's flagship site- Hafan- Y- Mor, which is looking more like an illuminati holiday resort these days !
Your vids are all excellent, you have the kit and nous to use it, which earns you my magnanimous approbation!

Thanks, nice tent, I like the small diameter packed disk and i like the camo, and I like the overall pitched shape reminiscent of an old horse-drawn gypsy caravan or covered wagon..:)
But as a two-man job it's a bit too wide for my solo wild-camping style because I like to fit into the narrow strip of nomansland between the hedgerow and growing crops.
So if Gelert bring out a small one-man version i'd definitely be very interested IF it still had enough headroom to sit up.

I'd say about a 7, v good but not perfect, I ride motorbikes and to date it's the only QP pop up that can be fastened safely to the side of one or just about 'backpacked' without becoming a wing.
Setup is a doddle, it really needs a groundsheet, the base is thin but then it can hold moisture on the base sheet and being single skin condensation can be a prob, however I haven't had this as not used it on any really hot nights and it does have a huge vent, otherwise it's great overall

LOL, thanks, they are tricky buggers to fold till you get the hang of them, especially as you feel like you're going to snap them during the process.

packa sponge just in case, that'll make it quick and easy to get the worst out, if it's a problem with just the little front and rear vents leave the door one unzipped part or full.
Let me know how you get on as thats a concern of mine never having had a single skin tent before.
